1 Journeys AP Calculus AB course provides students with an understanding of advanced calculus concepts. Through this course, students gain an understanding of differential and integral precalculus and how to apply them to real-world problems. Our curriculum not only covers the basic tools of Calculus but also delves deeper into the concepts, allowing students to understand what they are doing and why it works. Our 24-week course, consisting of three weekly sessions for precalculus, equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in Calculus. Upon completion of the course, students will know how to compute limits, differentiate functions using various differentiation rules, analyze functions using their derivatives, and apply derivatives to real-world situations. They will also be familiar with approximating areas under curves and calculating exact areas using integration, as well as various integration techniques on precalculus calculator and their applications in calculating volumes of solids and surface areas. Moreover, students will learn how to use integration to solve real-world problems, including work problems and fluid force problems, and be introduced to separable differential equations and slope fields.
